It has a light straw colour with a delicate, slightly floral and peachy aroma and has a gentle acidity on the tip of your tongue leading to a light lemony taste with a hint of saltiness on the palate that comes from the volcanic soil on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius and the proximity to the Bay of Naples. Info

The “Lacryma Christi Del Vesuvio” is a famous Neapolitan wine, produced in the past by monks in their monasteries near the slopes of Mount Vesuvius.

A lot of myths and legends have grown up over the course of the centuries around this wine.

It was said that when Lucifer was ejected from Heaven, he stole a piece of heaven with him. In his haste to avoid capture, he accidentally dropped the piece of heaven onto the Bay of Naples and avoided capture. Seeing what Lucifer had done, Christ shed some tears which fell onto the Bay of Naples. From Christ’s tears, grape vines started to grow.
