Cantina Sant'Isidoro

Sant'Isidoro was among the producers we partnered with when our business began in 2015. The vineyard and winery owned by Francesco Cantina, thrives on his passion for wine and his relentless pursuit of perfection which drives Cantina Sant’Isidoro’s success. Nestled in the Macerata hills this vineyard flourished from Francescos restoration of a villa constructed on the remains of a monastery belonging to the Franciscan friars. The wines crafted from the vineyards surrounding the villa influenced by the terroir, are meticulously nurtured where the Ribona and Pecorino grape varieties flourish in the limestone and clay rich soils. A reflection of Francescos dedication to authenticity.

With investments in cutting edge machinery Francesco ensures that every aspect of winemaking is meticulously executed, resulting in high quality wines. Recent accolades for their Ribona and Pecorino wines underscore Cantina Sant’Isidoro’s commitment to excellence.

In 2017 Francesco and his team embarked on a journey that culminated in their achievement of 2021. Attaining ZERO RESIDUE certification. This recognition exemplifies their dedication to sustainability and purity through guidelines ensuring no chemical residues are present, in both grapes and wine.

Why do more producers not adopt ZERO RESIDUE practices? Cantina Sant'Isidoro provides insight into this question with two reasons.

Firstly, embracing the concept of ZERO RESIDUE requires an investment, not, in labor and natural resources but also in seeking advice and going through certification processes. Secondly achieving protection for vineyards goes beyond using products; it involves implementing careful vineyard management practices like precise green pruning methods to control the spread of diseases.

The dedication of Cantina Sant'Isidoro to ZERO RESIDUE goes beyond obtaining certification; it reflects an approach to sustainable grape growing. By avoiding fertilizers and harmful chemicals the estate chooses leguminous cover crops to enhance soil health and encourage biodiversity. Through prioritizing resources and supporting the wellbeing of their supply chain Cantina Sant'Isidoro guarantees a product known for its quality and ethical standards.
