Bold, elegant, and deeply rooted in Umbrian tradition — Montioni’s Montefalco Rosso is a red with real personality.

This wine is crafted from a careful blend of 65% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, and 15% native red grapes — all grown in the sun-soaked hills of Montefalco at 450 metres above sea level. The grapes are hand-picked between September and October, then fermented over 15 days. After that, the wine spends 12 months aging in barriques (small oak barrels) before resting for another 6 months in the bottle to reach perfect balance.

The result is a beautifully structured red wine with a bright ruby colour and a nose full of ripe fruit, wild berries, plums, and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s dry and harmonious, with a warm, lingering finish that’s full of character but never overpowering.

Montefalco Rosso is a natural match for grilled meats, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta with rich, meaty sauces. It’s a wine that benefits from a little breathing — so open it about an hour before serving and enjoy at around 18°C (64°F) to bring out all its depth and complexity.

Montioni Montefalco Rosso D.O.C. — a true taste of Umbria, crafted with care and tradition.
