Solimano Heritage Gold Primitivo IGP Salento

If you love big bold reds packed with fruit and complexity then at 17%, this huge primitivo is right on the money. The grapes are left to semi-dry on the vines to intensify the fruit flavours. The wine is then aged in both American and French oak barriques which add a level of complexity to balance the bold fruit flavours. The result is a wine with dried fruit, mint and leather aromas with flavours of black plum, vanilla and a touch of spice; the finish is super long.

This wine is for contemplation after dinner but matches well with strong cheese as an alternative to port.
