Turan Organic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOCG 2008

We continue to be amazed by the variety of tastes provided by the Montepulciano grape that are created by the soil, climate, and the ingenious use of oak by the winemaker. It's why this delicious wine from Torri Cantine has earned its place on our list. The grapes from 40-year-old vines planted on south-facing slopes are fermented in steel tanks before ageing in old French barriques for 18 months. The wine has now had a further 14 years in the bottle and is just perfect for drinking now. This elegant wine has aromas of dried fruit, and chocolate with hints of coffee and liquorice which are reflected on the palate.

It’s a beautifully balanced wine with good structure, supple tannins and a super long finish.
