Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.

Having spent many years working in Verona, I know a good Valpolicella Classico when I meet one, and this is exceptional. Made with the same proportions of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes as the Ripasso and Amarone, the Classico is aged only in steel tanks before bottling. The result is a medium to full-bodied red that offers aromas and taste of raspberry and black cherry.

The wine is beautifully balanced with a hint of delicate acidity followed by the same red berry flavours on the palate with soft, elegant tannins resulting in an easy-drinking red to pair with pasta and meat sauce. In the summer, it is also worth trying slightly chilled with seafood with tomato-based sources.
